Hey Guys,

I'm not sure what everybody else thinks, but as I am both the owner of a PS2 and a gaming PC, I have been fortunate enough to play my favourite games on both Platforms. :)

The thing is, I've always thought to myself that some PS2 games would do really well if released on PC as well. ;)

I mean, if some friends do come over and we play PS2, there are some really fun multiplayer games, but it does get a bit much when your TV screen is split 4 ways and you can't see wat you're doing ;)

PS2 games such as Timesplitters and Burnout would do really well on PC I think.

They would also be really fun to play online or at lans :D

yup, it's gay but sometimes sony makes the game maker sign a contract stating the game can only be allowed on there format, this goes for every console maker, microsoft made the makers of gears of war sign a contract saying the game can only be made for xbox360. this is because of sales on both ends, if there's a really awsome game only on xbox more people would want to buy that console over the other competitor.

although i no want you mean, but there are some game makers who just prefer gaming games on consoles because it's just so much easier, with computers you need to make the game play on millions of different systems. BUT microsoft has burnt it's fingers with the success of it's consoles, thus people are opting for consoles and this is bad for computer gaming. which in turn is bad for console gaming because there will be less development in terms of gaming.

so now windows is really trying hard to make sure pc gaming doesn't go under, thats why they have spent so much on vista and gaming. vista(dx10) will be a lot more uniformed and thus easier for game makers to adapt the pc games to,

The thing with PCs you can always revive that market and it does revive itself once the console sale stop escalating like they do within the first few years of the unit. There are many games I wold like to see on the PC even if it's a year or two after their console releases, especially Xbox and Xbox360 games as those would be easier to port since those consoles share a common API with the PC.

Seeing as all games are developed not on a console, but computer if one is smart you could develop for the console like you are, spend your money there to make a good title. Then when you are done with that project change a little of the game etc to make it PC friendly even if it's later, much later. The Success of the Console version will market the PC version without you having to do much. We don't have to live in an either or world, we can enjoy both. As its not in any developers interest for the PC to sink (It won't BTW)

If there were no money to be made on selling PC games then these companies wouldn't care if the PC died as a game platform.

I've found most ports from console to PC to be pants in the graphic & interface department. My biggest grudge are games where you have to enter your character name/savegame name using an on-screen keyboard rather than your real keyboard.

Yes they make ps2 and xbox 360 games on pc and test it on a pc.so they could just aswell bring it out for pc aswell.I agree.
Would be cool

AFAIK Xbox games should work on a PC. The Xbox is a PC. i read something about it some where... Will post a link if I find it.

Well you'll get your crossover fix shortly, Huxley, Shadowrun, Uno (can't think of others off the top of my head) will be cross platform AND Cross playable! Ie PC versus 360 online.

There's a ton of other games that are both PC and 360, considering the tools it makes sense.

I'm unsure but I think I read on one of my games that it's PC compatible but not the other way round... I'll go and check it again. Think it was COD3

Me too. I'd love to be able to play GT4 on the PC at a proper resolution and with proper load times. :)

Yeah, that is one of the things I hate about console....

It may be easier to play using the controller etc. but the load times....sheesh

Spend more time watching the load screen rather than playing the game. ;)

I disagree there, although my comparisons may not be fair, but Gears and Burnout load Waaaay faster on the 360 than Battlefield 2 or Dawn of War load on my PC.

Dude that's 4 different games on two different platforms.
That's like saying Mario on the Wii loads faster than Oblivion on the PC..and?

And load times are dependent on your PC more than the game or it's platform.

That is extremely true....but you have to admit...8/10 games load faster on a PC than any console :)

Yes that's true. Probably more than 8/10. With consoles even when its quick its a small section of the map/game so there's another load 5minutes into the game again...

you're absolutely right, I'm not trying to compare them directly, it's just the games I have experience with, as far as the PC goes, let's not go there, I know it's a bit of a dog. :$

If I'm not mistaken, Gears does continuous loading so I don't think you can say that about all console games, or PC games for that matter.
