Naspers joins MXit frenzy

Moneyweb.co.za quotes Herman Heunis as saying:

MONEYWEB: Tell us about the synergies – what role will Naspers be playing?

HERMAN HEUNIS: Well, obviously they’re a major media group with quite a global footprint, and obviously we hope to get some assistance there to roll it out internationally. In South Africa we hope to get some of their content onto MXit and make it more attractive to our users.

So essentially the same company that brought us the likes of mnet and mweb is now a 30% shareholder?

Bye Byte MXit, Hello MXitWeb, joining DSTV and MWEB and numerous others companys Naspers has a finger in (or Up) :-P Naspers allways have a very competitive pricing structure. (its shown in DSTV and MWEB)

Well congrats to the folks from Mixit ... they sure deserve it.

Say does Naspers have part ownership of a very popular chat client in China ???.

IIRC it's called QQ.

Wonder what they paid for it. Hopefully Naspers will have the good sense to leave most things as is, then again its only a 30% stake so there's not that much they can do.
