N80 Update

Hi guys

Firstly I'm having problems connecting to the pc via the usb cable supplied. Hence the problem getting the update through to the phone as I'm only able to connect via bluetooth to PC Suite.

Please advise if there's any other way of updating the firmware on my phone.

The real question is: Would a firmware update fix the abysmal battery on the N80?

Nice.

And pop24... the battery isn't that bad. Mine goes for two days at stretch and it really, really isn't all that much effort to just charge the thing every night.

lol, well i've got a dual boot on my pc - one XP the other Vista. For some unknown reason I wasn't able to to connect my phone to the updater on XP. It worked though on Vista.

More N80 tips

1. The newer version of PCSuite tries to install an app called MMSSynch onto your phone. I did this once and it slowed my N80 down considerably. Now, when I connect my phone after installing PCSuite for the first time, I do not allow the installation of the little applet, and I still connect to my pc without problems.

2. Downloaded a Nokia application called Carbide.ui (previously Mobile Theme Studio). 132MB. Really cool software which allows you to make your own themes for Series60 phones. You can customise virtually any aspect of a theme. Do a Google Search for it, or look at the Nokia Developers Forum for th download.
