A pretty eclectic list from someone I don't think I'd trust to take out the garbage...

10's a bit long... how about top 5 - sorta like High Frequency - Top 5 desert island singles. I'm up for that.
Do free versions of shareware count.... or only ones that don't expire?

No apple software ;)

Here's my list...


NeoOffice - replaces Microsoft no problem
Skype - ain't nothing like free VOIP in the morning
Handbrake - DVD's to go - whoah!
Google Earth - where in the world is Bwana?
iStumbler - the low down on wireless


and in the not quite apps category...

iStatPro - the king of all widgets, now with native temp and fan speed for intel macs
Flip4Mac - Windows Media without the hassle

Came across XFolders on Apple's OSX download pages. I have been using WinCommander for ever so this to me is a must have.

ok, cos xfile - http://rixstep.com/4/0/xfile/ - really didnt look all that impressive.

I havent formed an opinion of Xfolders yet. :)

I looked at the screenshots for XFolders ... looks like something I can use. Will definitely give it a try

Two more usefull utils I found:

Disk inventory X - shows size of all folders/files on HDD.

Corripio - Finds artwork for your iTunes library from iTunes store, WalMart and others. Useful locally for those who do not have access to the USA iTunes store.
