Carbide.ui theme creator for Nokia S60v3 phones (N73 and N80)

I downloaded a Nokia application called Carbide.ui (previously Mobile Theme Studio). 132MB. Really cool software which allows you to make your own themes for Series60 phones. You can customise virtually any aspect of a theme. Do a Google Search for it, or look at the Nokia Developers Forum for th download.
 
haha i have had carbide 3.1 for a few months now.. its no easy programme to use and even tho i finally figured out how to load my own images, i still cant get the thing to create the .sis file for my N73, it wants a certificate and i dont know what not :(

the tutorial is useless to me.

anyone have a any experience, tips, or a "carbide for dummys" quick guide??

perhaps we can start a thead on using carbide?

Ye its not so easy compared to SE's theme creator.
You need some basic photochop skills.
 
photoshop editing is not my problem.. creating that damn .sis file and .key files are the problems..
 
1. The easiest way to insert images is to right click copy, right click paste - or drag it into carbide.ui.
2. On the toolbar above, is a little icon which says create .sis package - when you click on this it will begin the conversion process. Yes, it will ask for a key, so you need to create one during the save process. This happens once only and you use the same key for subsequent .sis files.

hey.. ye, i finally figured it out... there's a little key making wizard attached to the programme, i made one before i started my theme and it worked like a bomb :)

my theme looked ok, lots of work involved with the images, and needs some fine tuning but not too bad for my first attempt :)

i'll try to upload some screenshots if i can remember how!

any reminders on how to do that would help ;)

Do what I do, download other peoples theme then edit it and make it your own!:p

nope.. it will only open a .tdf (carbide project) file type...

any ideas on how to mod the clock tho would help? cant seem to get rid of that sort of faded oval that overlays it :(

its called face 2 by carbide.

problem with Zedge and most other created themes are that they have a number of annoying flaws in them.

Exactly, I like certain things about some like VW and Audi cursor icons but then the rest of the theme sucks, so you download it, import it into the theme creator change the standby and whatever other crappy pics the designer had to what you like, change the colour scheme to something more to your liking and their you go.:D

Also use winrar to disect the theme and extract certain pics you like.

Ill post some of mine just now, only SE theme though.

It looks as if it is part of the background picture or did you create that bground yourself. If it is the background, edit the pic with photoshop or whatever and brush out the oval.

nope.. its a default image in carbide, the clock consists of face 1, face 2 (the part i want to get rid of) and ofcourse the two hands..

regarding zedge files.. can you download them in .tdf format??
 
problem with carbide.ui 3.1

i create a new sis-package, click next and finsh and it says that the command s60_32_mifconv.exe execution failed
Could somebody help please?
