Cell operators face Icasa bid to cut costs of routing calls

Dont they pay only 10c per unit connecting fee`s to Telkom?
 
30% pure profit? That sounds WAY too low. AFAIK it's just the transfer of information or an electrical current between two devices, how can that cost them anything? I understand that they have to maintain their switches, but don't they have to do that regardless of whether or not there's interconnection? I've used my home network for the last 5 years now without any problems or any "expenses". The only expense I have is electricity and at 5 Watts my switch barely uses 10c a year. Is there some manual labour involved in this interconnection process or am I being retarded?

Which in turn means half of vodacom's share goes right back into Telkom's coffers.
 
Telkom = Vodacom

Telkom would prefer you to use voda: more profit, less hassle, to them.
 
And the chance of this happening tends to... ZERO. ibiwisi
