As most know, international hosting is much more affordable than local hosting. But if you host overseas, your site won't come up in google localized searches for SA. Anyone know more about this? Is there a way around it?

Thanks

I have 19 sites hosted in the UK. All of them appear on the local google search. From what I gather, its domain related and not location

That's good to know, thanks. However, my .za.org domain does not show up in localized search - yet other .za.org and .za.net domains do.

www.wantitall.co.za is hosted in the USA, and I havent had any problems with search. I get quite a few organic hits from google.

give the crawlers time, or go to google and "tell the engine about your domain" by submiting your web url.

does Godaddy host .co.za domains, i mailed them but they say 6hrs for email response , good lord i thought we work in African time!!!!

GoDaddy does host .co.za domain names, just ask if you can have Reverse DNS configured for your name servers with them.

GoDaddy is primarily a domain name registrar and you may know the saying "don't order steak in a seafood restaurant".

Should be fine as long as its .za. Only a few of the sites on localized are actually hosted in SA.
