Q: I've heard that 1.50 is the golden firmware? What's with all this custom firmware stuff?

A: 1.50 is a wonderful thing. No question about it. However, 3.03oe is like 1.50 and 3.03 combined, with many many added features. It still plays homebrew, with the benefits for 3.03 firmware (ie will play all the latest UMD without additional homebrew like devhook.)

Below is the comparison of the features of the two:

- Location Free Player removed (Not enough Space Left in Flash0 but nearly noone uses it)
- Big Korean Font Files removed from Flash 0 (Relinked to other small Font)
- Completely reflash of onboard MCP needed (Not really risky, nearly anyone of the Bricks didn't read Instructions right)
- PSP-Movie UMD Backups not working yet

3.0X OE-X is definately the "Golden Firmware". It's better than the plain 1.50 and any other official or unofficial Firmware out there. So stop asking. It has all the strenghts and none of the weaknesses of 1.50. And it's getting better with every update. You can downgrade everytime to 1.50 (Really Senseless). If anyone asks wich is the best Firmware, send him to this Thread. Now with the new Popstation cracked to play nearly any PSX-Game compressed and fullspeed i feel like in Heaven. Dark Alex is definately the King of the PSP Homebrew scene. Muchas Gracias.... For now, i can't imagine how to make this beautiful Firmware any better, but i'm shure it will get better... Anyway. Stop asking this Questions and update your PSP with the new Golden Firmware. SONY definitely got owned....

ok kevin.I love irshell sooo.My one psp will always be a 1.5
thats why you must own 2 psps for the best of both worlds
I have 310 custom on one psp
my second psp is 1.5 with devhook/harlyg custom firmware dh return key to 1.5 mode/recovery mode/custom font/custom xmb icons( purple)custom music/custom game boot/custom mp3 stored in flash.and best of a 1.5 ,homebrew will always work.x flash 100% compatible
1.5 cannot be bricked ever as you can always test stuff with devhook emulation
If it dont work there then you should not do it

this is a q and a post so i want to ask who uses nethostfs and usbhostfs stand alone with a batch file.
I use it,just wanted to ask guys here if they use this to

what do u mean "stand alone batch file"? i use usbhostfs on 3.03oec, its a plugin, and i have a ta082 mb

usbhostfs on 3.03oec is to run your recovery mode via a cable to the pc to copy files and flash registry files over if you half brick you psp,and in future maybe other things.
I run irshell with nethostfs and usbhostfs.
Just download irshell or read the pdf files on it then you will understand.

iF YOU HAVE YOUR PSP CONNECTED TO YOUR PC WITH THE USB CABLE,AND THE CONNECTION IS ACTIVE.PLEASE AND I MEAN PLEASE DO NOT PRESS THE CAMERA ICON UNDER PHOTO ,
YOU WILL CRASH YOUR PC,i REPEAT YOU WILL CRASH YOUR PC(BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH AND MAYBE WORST

WELL THAT IS ALSO WHY YOU HAVE THE PLUGIN,HEY
Well how about if you could play that same games via no usb cable.cool yes
you can be in the loo and select a game from the pc,this is where nethost comes in
I prefer stand alone nethost not psphost ,and pimpstreamer ,,etc,,etc

hmmm, sounds interesting... will it work for 3.03oec and ta082? the nethost, that is

let me get this right, you run 1.5 so you can use irshell? but I use irshell and Im running 3.03 OE-C (GAME150 folder)
1.5 is absolete, yea it was cool a few months ago, but now with 3.03 OE and 3.10 OE you can do everything 1.5 can do, and much much more!!

oh and you cant run games wirelessly, too slow and too unstable. even running games via usb isnt all that cool, lags and most games dont run.

Yes you can, as i do it.But i do it without with custom firmware,
The irshell pluginn withstonecut made foe launching isos from the irshell menu

tell me keven. try to run irshell from your psp with the 310 firmware oe.
and put the irshell folders in your 150 folders,
can you run irshell,please tell me as i cannot at this stage

im not running 3.10 OE

im happy with 3.03 OE-C and will stay until a real reason to upgrade comes about.

so i cant comment on 3.10, but 3.03 OE-C is ultra cool! (see, i sound like a kid again)

I just realised something. Sony bring out new firmwares every week is actually a strategy move. Think about it. Every time a new firmware comes out, hackers have to try decrypt it and then try and downgrade it. So for anyone who is a newbie, they buy their PSP and upgrade to the latest firmware (3.11 at the moment) and when he realises his mistake, he cant go back, hence he has to folk out R500 per game (****in rediculous!!)

So as long as they keep bring out worthless new firmware updates, there will ALWAYS be a demand for people to buy new psp's and buy expensive psp games.

If games were R50 - R150 per game, I would never have bothered playing ISO's

but you do have the originals so there.I think its a rip off to pay for a psp game that cost the same as a ps2 game.
but then again my psps is not really used for games.Its beta testers for certain peoples eboots.
sony does not really have good software engineers,as when hackers find a exploit, they patch it up.So basically they wait till the hackers like Darkalex finds a loop hole ,then all they do is patch it.This will continue to happen

yea sure, i have all the originals, they are all stored in a warehouse somewhere, owned by musica and look n listen

I just cant get good advice or help on the internet for running irshell 100% on 303oec.everyone has a different opinion
