MWeb at loggerheads with Telkom over ADSL problems

finally some pressure for the seemingly normal adsl month end outages and repairs.

If I was paying Mweb ADSL rates each month, I would also expect something to happen. Telkom need to wake up. Sadly Telkom don't listen to the smaller ISP's, who knows if they will hear Mweb with their megaphone.

'“We are actively monitoring and managing the situation until such time as we are satisfied that the quality of service has improved to an acceptable level,” said MWeb.'

Never gonna happen .....

If they don't listen to one of their biggest customers then of course why would they listen to anyone else?

I can understand Mweb's problem. Inexperienced customers blame them and leave their ISP service because of ****e that Telkom is chasing!

MWEB might actually be able to do something with their large customer base. With those prices they could easily move to another upstream provider e.g. Verizon if they wanted, doubtful whether it would help though.

I would be furious if I were Mweb. Not only do they have to play by Telkom's
capping rules, Telkom flaunts these with impunity by allowing runover. This is
a very unfair business tactic and definitely damaging MWeb's bottom line.

This letter was actually sent out to us (MWEB Customers) on Friday. I logged a call on Sunday with MWeb and sent an email detailing exactly the problems I was experiencing

MWEB promised to come back to me within 48 hours

192 hours and not a peep

“We are actively monitoring and managing the situation until such time as we are satisfied that the quality of service has improved to an acceptable level,” -

another way of saying - "Don't phone us - we will call you" "What bad service ? - NOOOOO We told you we are busy looking into it, what more do you want ?"

In the mean time we still sit with the same problems. Sorry I don't think they will achieve much

I wonder if MWeb has been getting any sales calls from NeoTel?

Mweb's probably still on hold trying to register a complaint :D

aaaa this explain why adsl has been yo-yo'ing the whole week(since last wednesday) router ain't broken ya telkom idiot!

Eish Pappie the Mweb they don't understand how you work? This is Africa Telkom is very big Africa. Tomorrow is another day, no rush. They don't want to pay for Pappie's Merc and BMW and 4x4 get a dailup free from DEON or GAME just sign Mweb contract
MWeb don't be surprised if Telkom management don't even show for you meeting. Maybe it can get interesting 5 years later after how many court cases?
