I have noticed that some users on other internet forums claim much higher 3DMark06 scores than mine with similar setups. I was wondering whether someone could confirm whether my score is about right for my configuration or post your own score, as I am unfamiliar with the 3DMark scoring system.

My PC scored (on 3DMark06 Professional Edition with default settings):

3224 3DMarks

SM2.0 Score: 1314

HDR/SM3.0 Score: 1190

CPU Score: 1559

My setup is:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz
2X 1024MB DDRII-667
Intel(R) P965/G965 “Westchester” with 8ch SigmaTel HD Audio
NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT
Gadmei TV Belle WDM TV Tuner
Seagate 7200RPM SATAII-300 250GB
Western Digital 7200RPM 120GB USB
Samsung SyncMaster 940BF 19” TFT
Windows XP Professional (32-bit), fresh install

Maybe a bit low.

I get 4850 with a AthlonX2 3800+ , 2gb, 7900GT.
A friend gets 3600+ pts with a AthlonX2 4200+, 2gb, 7600GT.

And you have a better CPU... not that familiar with 7600GT though

3D Marks come mostly from your Graphics card, and the 7900GT is much better than a 7600GT.

Your system seems a bit unbalanced, with the Core2 and 2GB of DDRII, you could do with a better graphics card.
