Play DivX and Xvid videos on Xbox 360

Yea i tried TVersity, in my opinion, it SUCKED.

The server and client program itself always seemed to hang, pc was unusable whilst streaming to xbox, not to mention the quality coming out on the otherside was not great.... Though it had some cool features, i still would rather batch my divx's to wmv at night and store them...

Thing is, you have to tweak the TVersity config to get the best quality for different videos...

I'v been using TVersity quite extensively and have found it to work very well. No problems with hanging etc. PC still fully usable (haven;t tried to run Oblivion or anything at the same time though).

For me the downsides are:

1) Can't Fast Foreward (really, really annoying).
2) No folder structure on XBox media player (irritating when you have a couple of hundred video files).

Best solution is still to have XP media Center.

Well I'm building a media center PC using old components I have lying around (am a compulsive upgrader). As far as Media Centers go, none of the consoles are up to scratch. the defacto standard for video is DivX, which probably explains why PS3 and XBox don't support it.

Converting to a format they want is a pain in the ass and either uses far more disk space, or significantly drops the quality.
