View Full Version : Unusual view of desktop?

One of my colleagues has managed to acheive a desktop view (XP Pro) that includes a 'panel' on the left, similar to the view one would obtain when opening a 'My Computer' window (the 'panel' on left has headings of Folder Tasks, Other Places and Details). I've never seen this on Desktop before. Any clues how to get rid of it?

just drag that pane to the centre of the desktop with the left mouse click in and go to the cross in the pane and close it.thast will fix it

you have to drag it from the side to the centre to work.

This panel will not be dragged, either by click and hold left or right mouse button. I can drag the taskbar around, and if I drag the taskbar to the left of the screen the 'new' panel shifts right to accomodate it. But no way is it interested in being dragged anywhere...
