I notice that the WOW team hasn't answered any queries on hellopeter.com. Any particular reason for that?

Why bother replying? They pay their protection money, get listed as a company that responds and are therefore excluded from the complains list.

Hey, let's put the blame where it belongs.
I was once actually told to report the problem on hellopeter instead of through VM, so let's start there. Until they have reformed themselves, we should take aim at the real culprits.

Skeptik they seem to be reforming themselves very well so far especially with Gerald at the helm. So far he has kept all of his promises to me and i'm really pleased that at last VM has someone who puts his money where his mouth is!!!

Hi firefly550,

I know there was a delay on Saturday, which spilled into Monday - we have been up to date since then.

Regards,

Gerald.

And how is not answering queries on hellopeter part of the reformation?

Has the network performance improved? That's what really matters.

Hi Syndyre,

As you will see from the posts; we still experience some of the issues that have been raised. However as I had communicated earlier; a course of resolution is in progress, and much of the information I have collected from our customers including those on this forum is helping us get there - hopefully sooner rather than later.

Regards,

Gerald.

I have to say I've definitely noticed a major improvement in the Virgin response on this forum lately, I think if you can provide a reliable connection you could quite easily corner a big section of the market, hopefully it'll improve now. ;) I'll try my VM sim out again later tonight, last time I tried it a couple of days ago the connection was just timing out, sent my details through to Scuz.

Where does the problem lie exactly anyway? Is it a lack of upstream bandwidth, lack of capacity on the Cell C radio network?

They've admitted this to me several times. It's allegedly all going to be solved by putting in a 128k sim card.
Here's hoping ...

Ok thats what I thought. Local is often faster than international though, wonder if there's not enough intl bandwidth either. Even roaming on Vodacom it can be painfully slow.

Hi Everyone,

I may have mis-worded one of my previous posts, what I was trying to get across that the Data issue is not something isolated to a single point of failure.

It's a multi-prong attack on the issue, and having said that, the feedback we have received with regard to info requested via Scuz has been great, and I really appreciate your input and assistance.

Regards,

Gerald.

Gerald, is getting a 128k sim card likely to improve my data performance?

Hi Syndyre,

Not if it is throughput issue, but more than likely if you have a connectivity issue, and you have a sim older than 4 months.

Regards,

Gerald.

I received my 128K SIM in September 2006, do I need a new one? I have a Huawei E620 data card.

Its generally a throughput issue, although sometimes I haven't been able to connect but that's generally when GPRS is down so I'm not sure if a sim would help, my existing one is older than 4 months though.

Thanks.

Hi Syndyre,

If you send me your contact details I can make it happen for you.

Regards,

Gerald.
