Have you seen the new Vodacom pricing ?

Posting the prices or at the very least, posting a link to the prices would be cool :D

Sorry here goes:

Vodacom announced drastic price cuts in mobile high speed data rates of up to 61% which now makes them the most affordable broadband provider in South Africa for lower usage offerings.

There is also no longer any distinction between 3G or 3G HSDPA data contracts which means that all Vodacom’s broadband customers can surf the Internet for under 19c per megabyte.

Says Alan Knott-Craig, CEO of the Vodacom Group: "This is a continuation of Vodacom's resolve to offer our customers the best products and services at some of the most competitive rates in the world. These new rates will apply to all Vodacom customers as from 1 April 2007.”

“Over the past few years our customers have benefited from a range of rate reductions. With the announcement of Vodacom's 'Happy Hours' back in 2005, we promised our customers more affordable data rates as we rolled out our 3G network, and that promise has now come to fruition,”Craig-Knott continued.

Vodacom’s flagship 1 GB data bundle is reduced from R 499-00 to R 289-00 per month, a massive 42% price cut.

Their 2 GB bundle received an even bigger cut. The price for this bundle is reduced from R 998-00 per month to R 389-00 per month. This translates into a 61% price reduction, something that will definitely bode well with consumers.

Vodacom has also announced drastic reductions on their 3 GB, 5 Gb and 10 GB packages which are now priced at R 689-00, R 989-00 and R 1989-00 respectively.

Price sensitive broadband consumers looking for lower usage packages were not left out.

Its 500 MB data offering for R 189-00 is unbeatable in the South African market, and consumers looking for a modem inclusive package will be hard pressed to find a better offer than Vodacom’s R 249-00 for a modem inclusive 500 MB contract.

Vodacom’s response is exactly what the local broadband market needed after Telkom’s recent announcement that they will halt all drastic broadband price cuts.

"Vodacom has pioneered access to mobile telephony and through our global competitiveness in the data market, we believe that it will result in a substantial improvement in broadband penetration. As a mobile network, we have to accelerate the development of data services." Knott-Craig concluded.

Yeah Fudzy, i agree just remember that with Vodacom you are getting coverage just about everywhere and you are getting much higher speeds. I am really thinking of going with them now. It just makes sense.

I'm not one to be an iBurst fanboy but are these not actually more expensive than iBurst?

HAHAHAHAHAHA double the speed you say? well good luck the only double the speed I've seen is telkom's ADSL yet they have the tendency to give you "UP TO 4Mbps service" as for 3G ATM it's way to saturated for anyone to actually get 1.8Mbps
