So yes it is back again. The black xbox rumour.

I generally feel that if a rumour is refusing to die it is most probably true.. (Zuma corruption).....

However there is now even better news with this rumour.. It seems that the Core is going to be dropped and the 360 premium is going to now cost the same as the current core. With the Black Xbox taking the place of the premium...

R2600 for an Xbox 360 Premium is a reallllly good deal...

Oh yeah and Halo 3 is rumoured to be released in November this year.
 
Hmm, I think this is one of those rumours that everyone wants to come true . . ;)

But I don't believe they'll drop the core, nor will they drop the price of the pro - There's no need, Moore said it himself - the price of the PS3 is already a price cut for the 360 :p On the Core - one of the 360's key functions is as a Media Centre extender, with the introduction on Home server, multiple core systems suddenly become very useful as means to distribute your content around your house.
 
Many places have reported on this now, all claiming secret sources, or anonymous tips or whatever.

Doobi: I fully expect them to drop the price of the Pro to get a jump on the PS3. They will most probably wait until a week after the PS3 gets it's PAL release and then drop it to under 1/2 of what a PS3 costs and announce their new model with IPTV at the same time.....

LCD's are not rated as such - but the 360 VGA cable will run most LCD's in their native res, so a standard 19" LCD will 1280x1024, (I think it'll even go to1440x900 depending on whether you get widescreen or not.)

No from what I gather it runs at the resolution the screen can output on the VGA cable?

But seriously, why didn't I know of this!! :eek: I could've been playing GoW or Halo2 by now. :p If this rumour turns out to be true I'll very much consider getting a 360.
 
I wish they'd bring out a mouse & keyboard. Even just a mouse and little w,s,a,d rig would suffice.

They don't want to because it may ruin the Live! experience for the more casual gamers...

I think they have a point. If the kbd/mouse option is better then there is no point in me joining any GOW ranked matches with my controller as I will lose everytime... takes the fun out of it.
 
nuts... so now is a bad time to buy a console??? when is this change happening?

and apparently CNA no longer has a promotion of "buy the premium and get 1 game free"... so you pay R3699 for the console and get just that... nuts...

must.... get.... xbox!!!! CHEAP!!!!
 
BT Games offers the console at R3599 currently...

I personally expect a price drop in early april in response to the PS3 being released. I hope it will actually coincide with the PS3 release but absolutely nothing is confirmed at all.....
 
There are still good value bundles to be had - Musica currently has a Pro + extra wireless controller + WWE RAW '07 for R4000, which is a saving of about R600-R700.

Hi-Fi Corp is also a good one to look at, they have Pro's for R3469 I think.

I'm sure there'll be more deals as PS3 launch approaches though, as I said elsewhere, Aus just got a Gears of War bundle.

I don't think we'll see a huge 360 price drop any time soon, The PS3 is moving too slowly, and currently is not threatening the 360. If PS3 adoption starts to take off, then I think we'll see a cut. But with the AAA content due o nthe 360 over the next 12 months and total lack thereof on the PS3, I don't think MS are feeling too worried.
 
but M$ are also not stupid, with a large price cut at around the time the PS3 releases they can steal a huge chunk of sales from PlayStation which would really put the pressure on Sony.

Sony may then need to try and drop their price to counter (which they cannot do at the moment) or they will have to spend a huge chunk of cash on marketing. The more M$ makes Sony spend on trying to get the PS3 out of the shops the less Sony have for buying developers Exclusive titles.

M$ are currently on top and they have never been known to be humane to competitors. M$ might try and destroy the PS now...

Dry your eyes :D I'm thinking more along the line of RTS games etc.
 
Well anyone see that apparently (gonna get lynched for this . . .) the PS3 is going to support kbms input for unreal Tournament 3?

Also - if the guys playing shadowrun claim that there's no difference, then why not?

Why not give users the option of Controller only/ kbms only or mixed matches?
