UPGRADED TO 4MPBS but nothing for the last 8 days

how long does it normally take, telkom say it takes 3 working days but i ordered it over a week ago

anyone experienced a lengthy wait?
 
Yeah - since mid 2006. Just spoke to them now and they're claiming it was upgraded yesterday so I'm going to reboot the router and make sure.
 
Hmmmmmm.....

Mine was instant. Upgraded on Friday, the guy said it will take 3-7 days - so thought okay best senario is that I would be upgraded this week sometime.

While we were on the phone he did some tests, checked credit etc. Let me know all was done and that I would need to wait 7 days....offered me the 4MB line instead of the 1MB (trial) (was on 384K) and then put down the phone.

As I put it down I heard a click from the modem, thought ok thats odd. Reconnected...and guess what....connecting at 4Mbps....

So mine literally took 10minutes for the call, plus 1 minute to disconnect and reconnect....was impressed....never knew the net could be so fast....like 300kbps downloading instead of say 35kbps or so is amamzing. Running out of things to download now! Hmmmmm back to greenlab....
 
Yeah, last time i upgraded to 512 it took a few hours.

Killa I just ordered the 4Mb today aswell :) The guy told me 72 hours hope its done this afternoon... holds thumbs :D
 
They just gave me 4mp... I think we asked for 1mp. Its weird watching my downloads come down at 350KB/s
 
OMS!!!!!!! i just checked now... MY LINE IS UPGRADED , THAT WASNT EVEN 10 MINS!!!!!!!! Best service i've had from helkom yet :)

that sucks ima phone telkom and ask why the fuq its taking 8 days when a guy i know took mins :(

if i upgraded to 1 meg will i auto get 4 mbps?

Im serious Killa, im D/Ling now, i had no idea how fast the 4mb line actually is, its insane!

When i phoned i asked for the 4mb line
 
*sighs* no wonder 4mbit is maxing out at like 200kb/s during the day now :(

Telkoms network cannot handle. Guess its time for me to leave this country and get some real bandwidth / money ;)
 
geez 200kb/s would rock from 52 :)

could set all the pc's in the house to 30 set grabit to 80 and still play bf 2 with a 17 ping

freakin awesome

well thats if they ever change my line
 
thing to note...as i am in the same boat

if u stay a good distance from the exchange...like 3.5km+ , the chances are that you wil not synch above 3megabit anyhow..

spoke to a saix engineer...he recons in some cases if your attenuation/snr values are REALLY bad , they lock you on a static 1024 synch profile

so what are your values killa ? *G36E*-> you :P

almost brother...if that SNR of yours was 2 lower - i'd say you would be having a nightmare of a time :)

the line attenuation is also just within sorta ok..

lucky is all i can say!


i had a synch of 3742 - snr down 5.2-6.2 and line attenuation of 56 - about 70-80 loss of synch per day!!!!

now that it is 1024 - snr down 21 , line at 49 - 0 LOS per day..
