so i've had this baby for a week and I'm not sure what I can do with it.
should I bother connecting to ADSL and connect to live?
is it simple or a mission and is it worth it?
whats the headset for?
what games can challenge it - GOW was damn awesome but I finished it today (ok my 8 year old finished it)
motogp06 is ok - i like the fact that its not easy to turn etc, but graphics very so-so.
got fear but after GOW looks like a waste of money.
Have one or two kiddies games, superman and some disney something, but if it wasnt for my 8 year old raam would still be kicking my arse, and he is bored with those two, so which games challenge the xbox?
from the reviews i've read that oblivion is the one to get, is this correct...anything else?
anyone want to make me an offer on fear, superman returns and open season?
Oblivion's booooooooooooring IMO.
Connecting to XBL is relatively easy and well worth it. I don't even play online (coz I have a silver XBL account), but just for XBL arcade and the marketplace as well as checking online leaderboards etc. it's worth it.
WRT games: wait 2 weeks for Guitar Hero 2, and get ready to rock out with your cock out.

Crackdown is a lot of fun and Rainbow 6 : Vegas is an awesome game...
Make sure you connect to Live! it is well worth the effort, Multiplayer makes all the games longer as well....

Yeah ,what they said ;)
Seriously though - you must connect to live, eve if it's just a free "silver " account, there is sooo much stuff to do?
1. Want to know what games to get - Almost every game release has a demo available for download
2. XBL Arcade - awesome awesome awesome - small pick up and play games, most of which are online enabled for multiplayer.
Besides that, if you want to play with you kid, then get lego star wars, it great fun. There's also viva Pinata, which is vey good, but it's not co-op.
If tennis is your thing -top spin is out, but virtua tennis comes out at the end of the month, there is also guitar hero II, Dance dance revolution universe due out imminently.
Oblivion is a very deep and immersive game, if that's your thing, go for it. Watch out for games like Battlestations Midway and Lost Planet - they're good games but desides for multiplayer.

Ok so i hooked up to live, very simple, plug in the cable and you done.
So how come South Africa is not supported? Had to register a USA address - does it make a difference which country you choose - I just did USA cause they have the biggest market.
Not sure now what, besides a few demos on live....anyhow will see what GOW is on multiplay.

Hey bud, awesome see you there, although I'd make a small suggestion before you get up your gamerscore -
Rather use a UK address, not that it makes a difference when you play, but because of movie download restrictions, apparently you can't buy Points (which you need to buy content) from a South African IP address on US live.
UK live is still fine.

Hi
No problem in loading the points - I was a bit worried that it wouldn't work but all cool!!
Xbox live great fun - having awesome time with lost planet and GOW on insane - just awesome.
Bandwith issues current huge hassle - got capped cause of my demo and arcade downloads so had to sign up for extra 2gbs hope it lasts

I bought my points on eBay. Quick and painless. After I paid with PayPal I asked him to email me the code. Typed it in the Xbox 360 and I'm sorted !

Excellent dude, but you need to get Gears and Guitar Hero 2! (Both for you but technically once the GF sees GH2, it'll be hers . . .)
I'd also recommend Burnout Revenge and Kameo, they're fantastic, cheap and/or are readily available 2nd hand.

When you say it like that it sounds right, but when you've got that darn controller in your hands all you can think is "DDR is for disco bunnies, this RAWKS MAAAN!!!"
This coming from a long time sceptic
In terms of the mechanic it is different - there are five buttons on the neck, and the timing is determined by the "strum" button where pickups would be, so it's a lot more "guitar" and not really DDR for your fingers. That's Boom boom Rocket.

You need Media centre, orb, vlc, or TVersity to stream AVI's. ;)
Order gears online, then at least then you know you'll get it. I've seen quite a few copies in Cape Town.
