As we all know, Telkom introduced the 10 digit dialing (dialing code + number) in order to align with international standards, yet our ADSL prices remains one of the highest in the world - go figure.

Then probably changing to the new format didn't effect anyones back pocket negatively.

How about a bit of consistancy.

hehe - interesting point getafix. But i think you're tight about the $$$

Hypocrytes

Also just read the whole ending of Open time thing. ICASA says that Mnet has an unfair advantage over other broadcasters.......

Well WHAT THE HELL THEY THINK TELKOM IS DOING.

SOME BL00DY CONSISTENCY PLEASE.

This makes me so freakin mad.

Aaaaaaaaargh (give me something to punch)

Telkom are paying the ICASA people... its bribery im so sure of it.

Think of it, a new competitor Neotel comes on the market. The stall them getting the license, now they have issues with granting the license to use the some airwave frequency so they can get past Telkoms monopoly of the last mile, so now ICASA are stalling that process. I can't remember exactly why but I think its something to do with something now being right from Neotel side.

Yes Telkom have so much illegal business practice - yet they do nothing. When it comes to Neotel, all of a sudden they can do their jobs. But Telko, NOOOOO!

I mean, the ICASA ADSL thingy that was propogated in the Government Gazette is LAW! I know it wasn't the most professional document (A little Vague) but some things are quite clear. FREE UNCAPPED LOCAL! This is law as far as I am aware, will ICASA do anything, NO. Neotel is a good thing regardless if they can't offer 1st world services/prices, it is still a good thing.

ICASA have issues with Neotel something good for this country, and no issues with Telkom a company which is significantly halting the economy and many other indirectly related things.

bottom line, I feel the ICASA peeps are being given backhands by the Telkom guys...nothing will change if thats the case.

PS: Sorry for my crappy spelling and grammer, I'm P**** off with Telkom. As is everyone I'm sure.

Peeded off, no freakin way...........

I'm absolutely @#%^$^&*^*^@@# off with Telkom and there blatant arogance. I wish Richard Branson would become more active with the whole ADSL thing. I know that he is stiring a big pot with banking and cell phones but this is a huge giant which needs to be taken off at the knees.

This is like David and Goliath. All it needs is one competitive stone and the giant will come down.

ICASA, Telkom are in each others back pockets. You can't tell me that ICASA is totally independant and unbiased. It's the bigest load of cr@p. All these people are interested in is feathering their own back pockets.
They do just enough to keep the angry pit bulls (us) away by feeding us dribble to quench our appetites. It's like some type of sadistic game they are playing.

Wait for the elections, and you will find things will speed up again. It's like the whole housing and employment thing. Elections come, promises are made, a few things happen, the majority party is once again elected and everything goes back to "normal"

It likes a yapping poodle that won't go away.

It makes me sick. Truly, the love of money is the root of all evil.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Enough venting, I am about to blow a gasket.

Cheers

uh.. well, I don't know why they implemented 10 digit dialing since people with fixed lines has been declining if Im not mistaken.
