guys i am battling with this problem.I play music in winamp.But certain mp3's play louder and some soft,I like my music loud so i pump the amp,but it gets frustrated when the next song plays and it blasts through the speakers than i have to turn the amp down.Is there not a way to smooth out the music to attain a certain level,I really dont wanna run to the amp evertime the song goes louder
ps ..my remote batterys are flat already from doing this up down withthe volume.

like to hear waht players you use to playback music..( i am not a fan of windows media player 10):mad:
 
Good question. Virtual DJ and Atomix have auto gain levelers, so there must be something similar for Winamp.
 
does it do it with windows media player

some mp3 are encoded with low quality or they where encoded from old cd's

other mp3 have high quality and are from newer artists

go download an old mp3 from allofmp3 and a new and you will see a sound jump because of the quality not sure if this is your problem though
 
Some mp3's are just louder than others. Depends on the recording. I'm sure there's a plug in for winamp that'll fix this. There's A LOT of plug in for winamp
 
SOme are louder than others,Good quality encoding allows better playback hence the crtstal clear loudness.I gur\ess i will have to search for a volume leveler plugin.
I really dont like using atomix mp3 ,not for play back its a bitch to control,but for mixing music its cool.
winamp is simple and with the mmd3 skin its even easier .
thanks guys will search for that plugin.
 
I run all my mp3s through cool edit set the amplitudes and cut off the second gap at the front and back and they all good.

I haven't bothered to get into this yet, but foobar2000 (free player) has a ReplayGain feature for this purpose.

if you right click on any of the bits of winamp... select:

options / preferences / Playback

listen how do you get a screenshot to work with print screen button.I never got it working..help me please hallie.
There was a thread about this and it still did nothing.
 
ok update my printscreen button dont work cause when i press da button and open photoshop cs2 and create new .The paste word is not hilighted.there for even when i press cntrl v nothing happens.guess ill have to get the hammer again

hmm... never had the problem of it not working. if you are using windows vista ultimate(sp) they have a cool new tool called the snipping tool under accessories which lets you take screenshots by selecting an area with your mouse.

if you using any other OS i am not sure?

maybe the button is broken?
