I have an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard and I bought it at the beginning of 2005 so I think it has SATA1 ports on it. I have to shell out for a new hard drive and would like to buy a SATA2 drive. Would it work on my mobo? I'm buying SATA2 incase I upgrade my mobo in future but would also like to use it straight away with my current mobo.
It's backward compatible and SATA 1 and 2 has nothing to do with speed.
