Have anyone tried Calidad generic ink cartridges for canon Pixma printers?

I only saw it today at computer corporation. I have the Canon Ip4200 printer, and since now I didn't know about any generic ink for it. The problem is the new chip, but now this Calidad ink say I simply take off the chip from the old cartridge, and put it onto this cartridges, and then it works. Have anyone tried it?

Mixed results

I used to sell those cartridges. From experience I can tell you that the full generics rock, the refills work if you follow the instructions to the letter and only use cartridges that ran out like a day or two ago and are still fresh [don't push your luck if your cartridge is more than 3 weeks dry), and the generics that require a chip replacement suck big time and rarely work.

wait a minute...I thought you just now said they rocked?:confused:
 
I have found from experience that the original product, in this case the PGI-5B and CLI-8 B/C/M/Y cartridges are better suited to be reset and refilled using a high quality dedicated ink. OCP from Germany or Inktec from Korea are my favourites for the Canon single ink products. The generic cartridge moulds, sponge materials and often inks are generally inferior and not to the original specifications. This leads to poor print quality and often leaking from the printer head

Thanks for this info Richard.
I was looking for some feedback on this issue as this is exactly the choice I am faced with at the moment on my iP4200 printer.
I think I'll follow your advice and have the original cartridges refilled/reset.
