RapidShare Issues

Hey,
Recent i tried to download an album off RapidShare free and i keep getting the same issue.

The link opens up and it displays the RapidShare info such as "free download" and "Premiuim download" and i proceed to select Free and the page loads and i get back to the same screen with Free and Premuim so i go again on Free and it does the same thing for about 3 times and eventually i get to a screen displaying the "Entry code" but no count down. The code is easy to read and i insert it and it proceeds to tell me its wrong ever time when it is right and i have my entire family to verify that its right.

I have no idea what the issue is. Iv tried to download other things from RapidShare and i get hte exact same issue every time. I get the issue from every PC in my house too. Rather frustrating.

If anyone can help please do im struggling here

I have the exact same issue.

Apparently it might be a issue with ibursts JHB proxy talking to Rapidshare but who knows really.

My only solution was finding less fussywussy fileservers.
 
I'll give it a try quick, Rapidshare has usually worked fine for me, but perhaps iBurst is implementing a similar to the JHB one which kills Rapidshare :(

They've definitely been doing something lately..

EDIT: Damn half of my international pages are still dead... google.com doesnt even work. Okay changing my IP fixed things..

:O Same problem? I think iBurst should know about this..

EDIT2: Well it does actually work.. I got a PCEO code where the O was actually a numeric 0, it downloads fine after that. The Rapidshare page has changed a bit so maybe its a issue with them.

If it gives you an "access code wrong" error, click back and then click the download button again.

ya the clicking back thing seems to work.

Also noticed it wont let u use a download manager. Anyway to get around this?
 
Disable your download manager and use broswer download.

I have clicked back and re-entered the code and still same issue every time. I have no idea whats wrong. But that same link downloads 100% perfect on my friends DSL line.
 
Try any other link with a different access code, I got a download going fine even though it just returned to the Free/Premium page the first time.

Still worked fine.
 
Or you could just get a premium account and it will work 100%.

Use Tor with RS, it works if u want to use the free service.
 
btw Daevanam my Rapidshare worked fine last night. Its actually nicer now because there's no 2 minute wait with the timer anymore :)
 
RS was fast last night and also fast throughout today, thats with a premium account.

The reason for that is probably they forgot to reset their Easter special for free users.;)
 
Heh, Ekhaaaaaaatvensters, the Rapidcra- I mean share issue is only with JHB so you Capetonians'll be 100% okay.

Only us in the middle of the burger are lost without a compass.
 
Daevanam is also from Cape Town, we were having some issues too, but it still works. The page just took you back to the selection for a while, mine seems fine again now.
 
the clicking back and then clicking download again worked for me. is it a firefox issue?
 
Hey all, im getting a little irritated here.
Tried to sign up for a premium account and pay with paypal since i already have an account. It says theres an active credit card on the account but it keeps telling me to add a new card. It wont let me proceed! how do i select that card thats already on the system?

if anyones gone through this, please help. thnx

It also confused me the 1st time.

Enjoy RS, it ROCKS! If only i was uncapped on it.... ;(

how paranoid should i be bout changing my password regularly? If someone gets your u/n and pass, isnt it possible that they can change the email address and passwd n lock u out? bit scary
 
To be on the safe side change it at least once a week even though it does not mean your account will be hijacked it has happened to limnos and myself.

Since then I've changed my pwd every 3 days and so far the usage has been correct.
