Alan85f, please stop going on about the term liberal. You use it so badly it almost appears as if you have no understanding of the word, but use it because you think it makes you look smart.
I fail to see how any of this has anything to do with being a liberal...
Oh, so liberals want people to have weak sentences? I thought they wanted to protect childrens rights, your labels make me all confused![]()
Alan has a point imo. Europe and America has become so twisted in thought that they don't see the irony and repercussions of their actions anymore. It is the liberals. I am not saying the conservatives are better, but for lack of a good all encompassing word, "liberals" will have to do.![]()
Antowan, I'm sorry but you're wrong. Alanf has no point. I agree that in the UK there is little respect for authority but I don't think that has very much to do with "liberals". If that were the case then a similar situation would exist in countries like Sweden and Denmark. These countries have embraced liberalism for much longer and in a more encompassing way than the UK.
These are just two cases where different judges applied different sentences. It happens all the time.
What would be a liberal in the English (England) context?
In my view they are the folks who:
1. Are pro abortion (so am I)
2. Anti fox hunting (not me)
3. Anti-dog fighting (as am I)
4. Anti Iraq war (I am pro)
5. Against father rights (I am pro)
6. Pro environment (as am I)
7. Pro African aid (I am against)
8. Pro immigration ( am against unfettered immigration if it isn't based on cultural bias)
the list goes on...
I daresay the liberal view has also swung too far in our own county. There are some things that simply won't solve any problem no matter how warm hearted it may make us feel. Giving a poor man money (poverty grant) helps nobody. Give him food, shelter and education... make sure you do nothing for the poor unless it comes with an incentive to move them onto independence...
I am not sure that "liberals" are against father's rights. What would be a liberal in the English (England) context?

Blaming liberals for everything he doesnt like, are like those people blaming everything on witches (and killing them), uneducated and/or wanting a scapegoat....
Can't have your cake and eat it Alan. You've frequently called this place MyLeftwingNut, and yet now you're claiming 'liberals' are in the minority.Or just you few liberals![]()
Riiiight.Contrary to what the "locals" would have you believe their a plenty of non liberals on this forum who think I have a point. Unfortunately they couldn't be bothered to deal with the above mentioned avalanche.
4. Anti [-]Iraq[/-] war(I am pro)
Next time you do it, I'll be sure to point it out.Have I?
I'll be waiting.I could show you a few PM's but I'd have to get their permission first.
You and those Muslim fundamentalists have so much in common it's just sad.On the contrary. Being anti war is![]()
