Blood 'may provide new HIV drug'

As a scientist I have my doubts about this. There's been so much hype lately regarding experimental treatments but very little in the way of measurable results or a glimmer of hope
 
Human Blood May Contain A Cure For AIDS

"German scientists at the University of Ulm have identified a natural ingredient of human blood that prevents the HIV-1 virus from from infecting immune cells and multiplying. The molecule, which they call virus-inhibitory peptide (VIRIP), promises new types of effective treatment for HIV in the future. 'Tweaks to its amino acid components boosted its anti-HIV potency by two orders of magnitude. Tests also showed that some derivatives of the molecule are highly stable in human blood plasma, and non-toxic even at very high concentrations. A synthetic version of VIRIP also proved effective at blocking HIV, excluding the possibility that some other factor was responsible. VIRIP targets a sugar molecule which HIV uses to infect a host cell. '"

I wonder which year any cure would be made available - if ever!. So much money the Medical companies can make by not releasing the cure - Twisted world!!!
 
I thought there was a whole thread on this forum of people who said HIV/AIDS cannot be proven and therefore doesnt exist? ;)

So how can they prove this then? :D
 
If I see Johan here I will find a hippie, pay it (though by definition not in currency) and make it kick the other hippie, Johan, square in the nuts.

It is an unfair reality and mentality in this world, people can make more money treating the symptoms than solving the cause. Do you really think they would release a cure... imagine the impact and the mayhem? world population?
