What's with the map on this site?
http://cjcp.poweredbyit.com:8080/crime/crimemap.html#
According to the legend, there have been NO HOUSE ROBBERIES for the huge area encompassing Gonubie and Mzamomhle near East London - I seriously doubt that. Can anyone else confirm whether their area is in the "no house robberies" range?
I just find this unbelieveable... unless the stats are for the past week or month!

Well I checked for Grahamstown and apparently there was ONE for what looks like 2005/2006. I PERSONALLY know of many more than that so this is clearly a joke, just like the rest of the crime stats. Pathetic.

What caught my eye on this map is the very blue north/east SA and a very red west/south SA. Where murder is high theft is low - and where theft is high murder is low. So one can choose which crime is more tolerable and go stay in that area of SA :).

Yes, but...

The stats are in rate of occurance. i.e. number of events per 10,000 people.

Degree 1=nil per 10 000. (grahamstown / gonubie, etc.)
Degree 2= between 0 and 5 per 10 000 - this will surely include fractions if only one per 100 000 for example...
i.e. the first degree implies no break ins EVER...

no "recorded" break in, The sad thing is many crimes are not reported. I am guilty of it, not reporting a crime. maybe it was 0.49 so was rounded off to 0

makes sense if you want the stats to look good.

Either way the stats are clearly worthless.
