Cheers! India is now a trillion dollar economy

In terms of GDP, India is at number 12 and South Africa is at number 28. But in terms of GDP/capita we are way ahead of India.

Now there's a surprise India has a billion+ population and SA has 44 million, I do however agree GDP/capita is a better way of judging.

The other countries in the trillion dollar club are U.S., U.K., Japan, Germany, China, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Brazil and Russia.

Of course. The gap between the rich and the poor is immense over there. What you want is an economy with a small gap between the rich and the poor, like in Europe and Japan, where most people are well of although
very few are incredibly rich and very few are incredibly poor. In India there
is a handful of super-rich moguls, a small middle class and a huge mass
of extremely poor people. Even with the growth of their IT industry, their
animation (which can't approach Korea's let alone Japan's) and all their TATA's I don't see them uplifting that huge mass of people who are so
incredibly poor. The problem's similar in China but I think people are
relatively better off in China, regarding the poor.
