Yo! What happens if you breach Telkom's 24 Month Contract

if you are 12 months short you pay for 12 months at whatever price you're paying at present. If you pay R360 pm at present on contract you pay R360 PM to cancel. ie 12 months equals approx R4120.

R12? Sorry but I really don't undeerstand:o :p

When you signed the contract, you "promised" to pay them an amount per month for 24 months to deliver a service, lets say R 250 per month, that means if you cancel the contract after month 12, you will be billed for the remaining contract amount, i.e. R 250.00 x 12 = R 3000.00 (that's a fictional amount).

AHHHHHHHH!!! Nevermind! No 24 Month Contract for me! You mean I pay 699 p/m meaning R8388 for lets say remaing 12 month? NO WAY!

Dude, does a guy come to your house to install whatever if you upgrade your line? Can I sign up for Self-Installion still?

Actually it is not that bad. If you cancel your service before the 24 months is up you are charged a penalty - afaik this is about R70 for each month remaining on the contract.

ouch - didnt realise it was so bad! Those poor buggers who have a contract!!!

If you think telkom is bad try canceling a cellphone contract - they charge you the remaining contractual installments plus a handset clawback fee:mad:
