I would sell my house, and everything I own and become a begger the day a SA newspaper looks like this

LINK

Now how do they sell these papers ? Nothing interresting.

No Murder, Death, Robberies

A 16-year-old was arrested and is being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder as ballistics experts examine the weapon.

He said: "The weapon is a Section One firearm - a powerful weapon that has killed a 12-year-old girl. It is a weapon which should not have been on the premises.

Murder/attempted murder is the same whether it's committed by a family member or a stranger isn't it?

Not to detract from the tragedy of someone killing their sister, but

If a society has, say, 80% of murders done by family members, and murders at around 10 a week, say, then
1) Police have caught at least 80% of the criminals - else how do they know it was a family member
2) that leaves 2 a week that are not family related, or 100 per year.

It is a lot more "understandable" (although: do not get me wrong - it is still sick) to kill a family member - tempers and disputes build over a long time (think unhappy married couple bickering for 30 years).

In SA, we have thousands of crimes committed against strangers for no reason - and most are unsolved (or I am sure, not even reported in many cases).

So, yes, murder is vile regardless of the reason, but it is way worse down here on the tip of Africa.
