Hi there

I am looking to order a Samsung 226Bw online but all the online retailers example Digital planet and Megastore are naive and say there is only one panel and ain't willing to even check if its an S panel I would be ordering ,any help would be appreciated can't go to a store as I am up here in Makhado or is that now Louis Trichard so ordering online would be preferable.

Thanks.

When buying my panel at Incredible Corruption the sales guy said all the stock they ordered was S panels. Dont know how he would know that ,but my panel is the S one so I would recommend IC online shop.

Apparently the Samsung 226BW comes in either the A or the S panel. According to some web sites the S panel is made by Samsung and the A panel by AOC.

Best bet is to take a day off and drive to IC, ask nicely if you can just have a look at the serial number behind the LCD to check if its S. Only buy from online places if you can return it if it turns out to be an A panel.

Actually there are 3 panels the S,C and A.

S panel is made by Samsung,C panel by chimei and A by AOC.

You could try incredible but the samsung 226bw isn't listed on the online shop.

You don't have family or friends who maybe live in a big city so they can get it for you?? Then when they visit you or you go visit them you can pick it up??

Buying this monitor online is risky considering the panel lottery.

Better idea is to say you want to make certain the one you are buying is working/ not broken. Then we they set it up just check the back and see if it's an s panel.

hehe yeah and just get a sneak peek of the serial. One thing I CAN also say is stay away from Digital Planet.

Hey i got a "C" panel what's the major diff between this and the "S" panel besides the manufacturer ?? I'm happy with mine..

The other panels have more back light bleeding and also takes more adjusting settings out of the box. while S panel looks allot better straight out of the box.

On the back light bleeding some people are sensitive to this and will notice it and others not. It's still a great screen and you should still have many happy hours with it.

Hi, what must one look for in the serial to distinguish between S,C or A panel? Also someone mentioned the S panel to be around 4k, is the S panel a bit more than the others? Is 3.5k a decent price for the S panel?

Hi, My monitor has the ff:

Model :226BW [R]
Model code :LS22MEWSFV/EDC
Type no :GH22WS

Does anybody know if this is an S,C or a A Panel?

It's supposed to look like :
Model:226BW (R) A ---- AOC version or
Model:226BW (R) S ---- Samsung or
Model:226BW (R) C ----- Chimei

Mine doesn't have the (R) though, just "226BW S"

Samsung themselves doesn't differentiate between the 3 panels so it won't cost more or less depending on which panel you get.

The serial should say 226BW(R) S

Some people on other international forums have reported some stores selling monitors were the serial just says 226BW(R).
