Where would be the best place to buy components for a new PC.? I’m looking to build myself a RIG now than later for unforeseen circumstances. So I am pretty much looking for a little bit of help in what to buy and where to get it. I know my way round but there are the real specs that I am not sure of.

I am looking at spending 10 and 11k for a rig, excluding a monitor an all other accessories.

So you can say some thing that will last me a min of 2 years before i need to buy a new one.

I dont mind the upgrade here an there thou, but just something to perform, i hate the fact i cant play stalker and Command and Conquer at full specs.

i would recommend you check out prophecy.co.za. They have good prices and can get you most things.

For 10-11k you can get a pretty sweet rig right now...
 
It may cost you less to go to a pc shop in your area, a normal pc shop, where they do repairs and that type of thing. Befriend someone and get the prices at stock :p :D ;)

Okay, that's the first method, otherwise, check out the online stores like take2 and sybaritic. At take2 if you buy parts the delivery is R29 for everything ;) Which is way cool.

Check out sybaritic, delivery is more expensive, but the owner is very helpful and a cool guy.

NGR is also a cool place, one of my friends buys most of his stuff from them :D :p

Another alternative is to just search the net and research which parts will fit your situation (and pocket) best, though with a 11K budget thats not gonna be much of an issue:). Once you find what you're happy with search www.bluesting.co.za to get the lowest prices. PS I didn't know about the R29 shipping from take2, time to do some shopping.
 
Ya, what are you going to use the PC for? A lot of gaming? Can get something nice with a nice 8800 card for that kind of cash.
 
If your in the pta/joburg area contact Syndicate at systemshock forum. Best service that I have ever gotten from a pc dealer.
 
In Gauteng, I heartily recommend Supersunbird (based on reports here), or Syndicate from SS, or the Prophecy Shop.

From a hardware perspective, the CPU + motherboard could be either Intel's Core2Duo (something around the E6400 or E6600), or else something like the AMD AM2 X2 4800+. Get 2x1Gb DDR2-667 or DDr2-800 RAM, and a 320Gb SATA300 disk.

Graphics-wise, the 8800GTS 320Mb is a darling of the mid-range gaming crowd. Just ensure that you get a good PSU, in the range of 500W-600W. Units made by Antec, or Enermax are well-regarded, whilst Thermaltake's Toughpower or the Aopen 700W are reasonable options.

Go for a case with 120mm fan mountings and space to keep the wiring neatly tucked out of the path of the airflow and you're set for some DX10 gaming fun!

Well well, now thats a thought hey, but i will need more to do that cause 10k will be to cheap cause she worth 20:p
