The election of Cape Town mayor Helen Zille as Democratic Alliance leader will not bring change to the opposition party, the ANC Youth League said on Monday.

"The election of Helen Zille as the leader of DA is nothing else but a change of personalities," spokesperson Zizi Kodwa said in a statement.

"The DA remains the party of fascists and right wing conservatives."

The ANCYL welcomed the stepping down of Tony Leon as DA leader and said it was a blessing that created a possibility for the realisation of a non-racial South Africa.

I believe the ANC in general doesn't like opposition, much less confrontational politics.
 
Zizi was just having fun this morning when he wrote that press release. In all likelihood the DA won't respond this, simply because it came from the ANCYL and honestly they've not been relevant outside the ANC since the early 90s.

It is my opinion that the ANCYL are communists. They support a corrupt dictatorship, because they are only in politics for the power and money. They have no honest goal to advance the lives of their supporters.
 
Coming from a bunch of guys who are supposed to be for the people but yet are being paid stupid ammounts of money and carrying on like there is no end to the money they steal?? What a joke. Does anybody actually listen to these freaks? ANCYL- their leaders are about 30-40 yrs old, if that is the youth then I don't know.

The sad truth is it is taken seriously - by a whole lot of juvenile deliquents, thieves, criminals, gangstars and other politicians.

This is pretty heavy stuff, should they be allowed to just say these sorts of things?

A lot of people take them seriously, including, no surprise, the black youth. That is a very bad thing...

On the one hand most blacks are living in poverty in SA so they see
whites, most of whom are far richer then them (notwithstanding the overdrafts and motgages) as still being in the role of the oppressor.
But sure, yeah, those statements are racist, but in SA that works
mostly one way.
