OneCare isn't free, you get 90 days though. The issues i had:
1. You need to install via the web [big download]
2. AntiVirus is like any other Avirus [stays out of the way mostly, which is good]
3. The Firewall, got a few more settings than the default Firewall, but i still felt it's all too hidden and you need to search into deep dark corners to see "basic" stuff.
4. It's missing everything Windows Defender has....so i can only go WTF, now i need to install OneCare [emphasis on "ONE"] AND Windows Defender?
-> PS: Windows Defender is the antispyware tool, but got some very cool extras like seeing properly which programs are currently running, which programs are using the network and startup programs etc [almost like an advanced version of the task manager] .
5. It wanted to force me to upgrade IE to v.7 when i don't even use IE [i use firefox]. So now the little icon keeps turning yellow saying i'm in danger because my IE is not upgraded...annoying.
6. It's nice and quiet though, doesn't popup every 2 seconds etc.
Compared to something like PC Cillin Security Suite 2007 [free from ABSA btw] or BitDefender security suite or even Norton Security Suite , it's lacking quite a bit. I guess it's ok if you want something that's there and does it's own thing [i.e. like the current windows firewall] , if you want more control and info then i don't think it's the best.
