Jelal, from Richmond, was convicted of being an accessory after the fact to murder and unlawful possession of a machine gun.

He was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment in October 2000.

A Witness investigation has also established that despite Jelal’s status as a security officer having been withdrawn due to the conviction, he is now working as a bodyguard and carries a firearm — which violates his parole conditions.

Violence Monitor Mary de Haas, who also sits on the Psira advisory board, said a person with a conviction record involving murder can never work in an environment where they would carry a firearm.

I thought you were going to refer to Robert Mcbride... our local kid killing cop.

Why is anyone surprised? This has long been the tacit judgement from those in power. It's just becoming much more obvious now.

No-one's said anything about McBride in months. Why?
 
Its a criminal offence for a law abiding citizen to defend against criminals, and this usually adds one more criminal to SA, as the victim is now also a criminal for resisting a crime originating from another criminal.

Crime recursively causes Crime.
And there would be no crime, if there were no victims, before we try to counter crime, we must first combat the potential victims, to prevent crime from perpetuating itself.

Try to stay out of the loop. ;)
 
It isn't a crime to defend yourself. Not yet, anyway. However, the harassment tactic of opening a case of murder or attempted murder against the victim is sick and twisted, and needs to be stopped.
