Right.

I bought an ADSL wireless modem/router/switch/gateway Linksys WAG300N(http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopDetail.asp?ProductID=3524) when I had ADSL. To access and setup, I'd enter an IP address (www.whatismyip.com) in my browser and it'd ask for username/password. All was good and I could always enter it.

However, I moved houses and got 3G and use this thing is a wireless access point for my media streamer and my girlfriends PC. However, I want to accessthe setup thing again and have no idea how!

I've tried www.whatismyip.com and entered that - as well as start > run > ipconfig and entered every number there .. nothing works.

Can someone tell me how to access it?

Just throwing out some ideas but have you tried 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.1?

Yip - tried both :/ Dunno what I did tbh ... I don't even know what a gateway, subnet mask and all the other IPs numbers are

Download the manual from the website and then reset the router?

I guess I can ... *sigh*

I should learn not to play with things I don't understand ... thanks.

I was reading in one of the other forums about a MyWireless client that bought a modem without an ethernet port and cannot use a router. He mentions it being less safe going directly through PC via USB, rather than using a router.

Why?

PS This does pertain to my initial question as with ADSL I used the router, and with 3G I use USB. I'm guessing thats why it was easy to access lat tim, as it was in use - while now it's idle?

as long as your router is plugged in and switched on you can access it, the best thing to do is find ur documents for router .. it should say what the ip address is for router. also what u must do maybe is unplug b's pc from network (for now) and also your router probs has DHCP on so put your network ip to OBTAIN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY. and yeah if that dont work for some reason and the IP address isnt the same as the ip add in your help book there is a little hole on bottom of router where u can put a needle in to reset it.. but please remember this will set everythin back to factory default

good luck
