On a normal Telkom Shaped line i am getting pings of 350-400 with 0 Packet Loss.
I used to play EQ, EQ2, DAOC, and Beta tested Meridian 59 and . Basically got really bored with all of the above after a few weeks. Never tried WOW so i can't really compare it to that.
I like the quests in LOTRO, seems a bit more tied in to the game, like the idea of the Book quests that advance the main story line. Quests give good XP and items and are well worth doing, in fact it is better to quest than to grind out on monsters.
The world is really nice, graphics are very nice, nice being able to see the world come to life from the books, not a bad interpretation all in all.
First MMORPG that i dont really mind dying in, no xp penalty, just costs quite a bit to repair items, weapons and armour, plus you get lowered stats for 10 minutes.
As you level the quests are nice in that they guide you to the next area you should be in.
Travel is expensive, but runing is not too bad if you craft as well as it gives you plenty of time to find resources on your trip.
One of the things i like is that it is pretty easy to get a fellwoship (group), usually just hang around the area and you will get a number of invites, or invite guys you see there. It is also very soloable which is great especially when you only have 30 mins or so to play, and suprisingly in that time you can at least see progress in your leveling, especially if you do the quests.
Two of my kinship have played the same MMORPG's as i have but they have also played WOW and both of them prefer LOTRO, We are The Regulators and are so far 4 members all South African.
Ok i think i am starting to ramble now so to summarise, very enjoyable and the best one i have played so far
