Hi people. I hope someone out there can help me. I use my cell phones (Sharp GX15 and Motorola V360v) as a modem under windows. I have now installed Fedora Core 6 on my PC, and I would like to do the same with my phones. Only thing is, how?
The Sharp (Virgin Mobile)is permanently connected as a modem via Bluetooth, and I use the motorola (Vodacom) via a data cable, if Virgin Mobile is down.

How do I get Linux to detect the phones? I can pick them up via the bluetooth manager in KDE, but that's as far as I can get. I can't see any options to pair the phone, or configure any settings (If I click on properties, nothing happens....)
And a Google does give me info, but in funny languages I don't understand.. (I forgot how to read Russian and Chinese LOOOONG ago LOL)

So if anyone has advice, please help me.

Hey Charlh,

Did you read the how to at the top of this Forum ? The only phone that isn't covered is the one via bluetooth. I can research it a bit if you are still stuck after that. Also look what happens in /var/log/messages once you attach the blue"teeth" phone - I am willing to bet you will find your answer there :)

Laterz !

Thanx Tazz... I thought that how-to applied only to 3G cards.... After reading it now again, I do see the word 'phone' somewhere there:o

I'll try that and let you know.
