Hi Guys,
This is my first thread but I have this burning urge to get a full un-bias opinion on Microsoft’s new OS and their Office upgrade. From what I can tell, the price is going to set me about say R5, 000 so wanted to get some insight on if it really worth the price of buying a new computer because with R5, 000 you could easily do this.
I also have a couple of questions as well which I can't seem to find a definitive answer too. (Even after reading many articles and sites/reviews on the software).
I currently have an AMD 4000+ 64 system, 6 hard drives, Radeon 300 PCI-E 128MB, 2GB Ram, MSI enforce 4 main board. I am running XP pro SP2.
I built this machine way before any feasible version of the windows ‘Longhorn’ beta was available but even when it became available I have not tried it.
I have a 64bit system and only running 32bit software as the other 32bit is redundant in XP as far as I am aware. Now with the official launch of Microsoft’s new OS ‘Vista 32/64’ I want to know if it is worth me upgrading or not? I don’t see the point of having a 64bit system if I only ever run 32bit applications and no official security software for 64bit is available although I think Symantec have a corporate edition that is 64bit capable.
Would my system be able to run Vista Perfectly or not over XP pro or should I stick to XP Pro?
Anyone with some useful insight is welcome to comment as from what I have experienced so far, people either hate MS or they are pro them with out actually giving much technical insight or unbiased reasoning or insight.
