Estonia hit by 'Moscow cyber war'

"Estonia says the country's websites have been under heavy attack for the past three weeks, blaming Russia for playing a part in the cyber warfare."

Interesting situation. I seriously doubt that the Estonians can accurately tie Russia's government to the attacks but I would not be surprised to find out that it was sanction and/or supported by Russia in some way.

It sure doesn't look like Russia will lift a finger to help Estonia sort out the problem though.

Obviously Estonia vs Russia is a ridiculous mismatch so it wont go further than political rhetoric but what would the outcome be if two more equally matched nations tried this sort of thing on each other?

Why would you not be surprised. Please give us some sources for your speculation or is it just cold-war propaganda surfacing again. You do know the cold war ended many years ago?

Although Nato and EU internet experts are all helping to track down the culprits, Estonian officials say that they have had no co-operation from Russia.

Moscow denies any involvement in the internet attacks on its neighbour.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the BBC that the allegations were "completely untrue".
