Sony's video game division suffered an operating loss of 232.3 billion yen for the full-year, compared with a profit of 8.7 billion a year earlier.
Sony -- which under its first foreign head Howard Stringer has announced plans to axe 10,000 jobs -- poured hundreds of millions of dollars into the PlayStation 3 and its success is considered vital to the company's future.
The company was forced to delay the global launch of the PS3 by six months until last November and pushed back the rollout again in Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Africa and Australasia until March.
The PS3 is facing intense competition from Nintendo's Wii and Microsoft Xbox 360, and Sony was forced to slash the launch price in Japan amid complaints it was too expensive, making it harder to recoup the huge investments.

Seems like Sony is having a tough time. But I still hope they dont go the same way as Sega, competition is always good.
