Ok, so I received a call from iBurst this morning, asking me for an explanation why I am cancelling my account with them.

I explained to her that the iBurst service in my area (Irene, Centurion) has degraded since I joined them three years ago, frequent disconnects, slow speeds during the day and a super-slow mail server.

She asked me if they can send out a technician, but I told her that they did that last year and even with an external antennae, we could only manage 80kpbs more & that I was not willing to drill holes through my wall for 80 kbps.

Then she said that I must be aware that I'll be paying them till the end of June, even if I faxed my cancellation on the 12th of May. 'One calender month' means till the end of the next month.

I told her that their tactics smell just like Telkom and that I'm extremely disappointed, but happy to give them more money to keep them afloat.

iBurst - you suck.

I hate you.

Hey Kingrob, was it from the same details I provided you ?

We have been battling with Ibursts ineptitude since the end of February. ON the 28th we faxed them the cancellation notice, meaning that we will serve the month of March as our notice period.

Wednesday she calls back, this now after 2 faxes and 3 calls to her personally and 2 further emails "uh why you want to cancel ?" - I don't need to explain myself to you , do I ? If you haven't heard all the complaints of how your service sucks. What difference will it make now ? Why does it take you all of 3 months to get back to me now only ?

All I want is my money refunded for the 2 extra months and now begone.

Kingrob, as a warning, after the last months d/o has gone off your bank account, request your bank to put a stop on that d/o , otherwise you might have many more unpleasant encounters with our friends at "Isuck".

tbf "one calendar month's notice" means exactly that. But any business worth its salt should be able to make do with two month's notice. For instance I know that Vodacom on their contract allow cancellation up till mid-month for that month.

Thanks Idol.Cancelled my Iburst on 30/04/2007 giving 1 months notice.Received an invoice for following period.Confirmed with Iburst this morning that d/o would not go through tonight.I have now phoned my bank and put a stop payment on d/o due to your advice.

It might be inconvenient but this is their policy and it is not like it has changed! It was always that way. Complaining about it only when you are impacted is too late! Sorry but in life there are some restrictions!

I would have thought one month is enough, cos I bought my own modem for R2800 and went for month-to-month. Ag, now it's a month and a half - at least I'm helping to keep iBurst in business.

I finally received my refund for the two months d/o, finally , I am rid of "Isuck"

I pity all the unsuspecting few who flood to "Isuck" thinking them the solution.

There is nothing worse than the let down afterwards.

Maybe we should upload the "cancellation request" so that folks can access it quite easily, as well as a faq on how to go about cancelling your "Isuck" account.

A little tips and pointers to make the cancellation less painful for you, with important numbers and email addys for follow ups and confirmations.

Debit order went through today as I expected from Iburst. Will be reversed on Monday.Meanwhile I have rented out my Iburst in order that 6,4 Gbs of unused bandwith will be used.Iburst you are not only a rip off you are down right dishonest in processing the debit order as you assured me you would not.My required 1 months calendar months notice was given of which I have indesputable proof.Imagine if I was a member who due to misfortune required the amount of money which you have illegally drawn from my account? My child is hungry ,my bond unpaid etc.Hello Peter .Com here we go.I hate dishonesty.
