What do you guys think of this screen?

This is the 22" Wide LCD Screen (Packard Bell) sold by Incredible Connection...
This screen is normally R3999, but is currently on special for R3199.
It's only got a one year warranty though..
Is it safe to buy a Packard Bell? *Seeing as only IC sells them?

I love this screen. It is really pretty and at R3200, I think it is well worth it. My mate has the 19" version and he has had no issues at all with it...
 
Is it the one with the high gloss screen. I saw one at IC for R3999 I actually wanted to buy it ,but settled on the Samsang SyncMaster 226BW instead because they had no more stock except from the display model.

Looks like a decent screen though.

Yup, it's high-gloss...
It's a VERY pretty screen, all I'm worried about is the 1-year warranty...
I can still buy the Samsung for R3338(delivered to me in Bloem)
Do you think the R138 extra is money worth spending or would you go for the PB?
 
I was really interested until I heard it was high gloss - do they make a matte version?

Is the Samsung matte?

EDIT - 1680 x 1050 maximum resolution - that's the same resolution as my 17" laptop screen - couldn't they have made it 1080? :o

Why don't you want high-gloss???
I was looking at the screens two hours ago, and this screen definitely has a more impressive display the the Samsung 19" next to it had...

I prefer the gloss myself :)

If I go there and they only have the demo left, what do you think is a reasonable price to pay, seeing as that it is not really new then?
 
Well I dont really know the difference in image quality ect between the 2, but I can give you my expierence with the Samsung 226BW. I use the monitor mainly for gaming and with it's 2ms response time and high image quality it's really an awsome monitor. I am running my games 1600x1050 widescreen and setting the lcd in it's game preset mode is very impressive. It comes with preset modes for watching movies,playing games reading the internet ect and this makes it easy not to fiddle with the settings myself. I have the S panel(people on the net say the S model made by Samsung is the better one) and it comes with a 3year gaurentee or warentee from Samsung so I know I can take it back if any problems should arise.

Well, just order it from another branch, Bloem had three before I reserved mine... You won't pay any more...

What is the most worrying to me is the ONLY 1 year warranty...

I aslo tried to get the salesman to bring the price down on the display model ,but he gave me a story that he can't as they could still order me one from Joburg.

I've used both and really prefer the matte finish - I work with layouts/graphics/photographs all day and found that the reflectivity is a pain.

To each their own though :)
 
I wouldnt get the High gloss screen, its like a mirror you can see yourself in it! And if there a window behind you or anything bright it makes an ugly glare!!
Ill take Matte finish even if its not so "pretty":p

Thanx guys, the Samsung 22" it is then (can you actually believe that I'm driving all the way up to Jozi tomorrow just to buy a new chassis, monitor and GPU...LOL)

Sorry to pick on you bra, but that sounded a lot like "I have a Tata (Toyota Engine)"

Luckily yours is actually an NEC, can't say the same for the Tata though...
