No escape as mobile phone reaches Everest's summit

Imagine - stretching for that little crevice with the tip of your finger - uhhhh - got it, moving a boot to that two inch ledge somewhere out of sight (....concentrating....) and your faced is pressed tightly against the cliff face to retain your balance and not fall ... ice slippery as heck .... tedel-deedee tedel-deedee tedeld-eedee .... :eek:

But probably not a bad thing all considered, looking at the number of time communications is required for emergencies up there.

Then of course, the not available button can always be pressed - aka the little on/off switch.
 
Is it a normal GSM phone? I doubt there'd be coverage there so it must be a satellite phone?
