In case any saffas now residing in the UK are looking for one of the UK's versions of MyADSL, here it is:-

Interesting how similar in some aspects it is and also the reality behind broadband in the UK.
I've recently switched ISP's, because BT broadband is getting unreliable - lots and lots of traffic shaping.
It seems this is a worrying trend in the UK and is very untimely - just as broadband video is starting to mature and become a reality, the ISP's are getting worried they don't have the network to support the ever increasing demand for video content.
Unfortunately, they are probably correct - there's still a huge amount of copper in the BT network.
As the ADSL adoption trend continues to increase over here, the cracks in the infrastructure start to become more prevalent.
It's a creaky bridge with a patchwork of supports that is starting to buckle under the pressure of the traffic upon it.
EDIT: It should be noted that MyADSL is superior to the link provided in that the founders are far more active and informed.
