I lost the link to the article. I guess you will just have to believe me that someone said it and it was true.

This whole thing has gone silly. I am sick of hearing about this Niel Watson guy and people obsessing over him. I personally didnt bother with those stupid websites attacking eachother. I see a lot of other people are trying to get mileage out of this and out of this name, so that they can become famous too. I have followed some peoples comment posts and noticed some people posting their comments on many different sites. I think Niel Watson together with all the fools who rant about him should be given their own subdomain under za so that they can go rant and try and become famous where their own kind cares. I hope this is the last time we hear about this. At least it has been funny.

The biggest irony of it all is that were it not for the media, I for one wouldnt have even known about this blog. What about the rest of the visitors. Maybe this was one giant scam:sick:

That quote misrepresents the deal.
The subjects of the blog formed a consortium and appointed a lawyer to contact the blog author. They proposed paying him to remove the blog. As part of the agreement, they agreed to keep the blog author's identity a secret. Obviously to get the money he stepped into the light.
Note that not ALL of the subjects of the blog paid. Grindrod was one of a few who did not.
