What happened to the Verizon IP’s

Does anyone know which IP range; will place your traffic on the Verizon network?

A week ago it was the 196.46.64.xxx IP’s - noticed the IP’s have been shuffled around again.

However today they had some SAIX peering problems, so those IP's were terrible..

What would the best IP be in Pretoria. Sorry if has been posted before, but i did a search and only found a general IP for Joburg. Is there a verizon IP for PTA. What would the DNS be? Is the Verizon more reliable and/or faster?

Never seen download speed above 70KB/s (any time of day). Or should I be satisfied with that

You should be able to double 70KB/s, depending on your signal, tower load, MTU, Win XP configuration, etc.

As for IP's up North, sorry can't help - it is a trail by error process. I suggest you use your router to change your IP or search the forum for a script that was written by Seburn to change your IP manually and do a ping test to google.com - if it delivers an IP of 64.XXX.XXX.XXX you are on IS - The 72.XXX.XXX.XXX is generally via the Verizon infrastructure in Cape Town.

Another way to verify this is by changing your IP and having a look at the latency - generally the latency is much lower on the Verizon network than that of IS.

Best to do these tests after hours when the Network is not congested and when none of the service providers are experiencing any issues on their networks, as this will influence the outcome of the results.
