Need to share a 4MB ADSL Line..How?

Ok - I have a 4MB ADSL line which I have hooked up to a router. Now I want to limit the amount of bandwidth other people on my network use IE I want set Joes ip gets 2 GB and Sarahs ip gets 1 GB etc.

My router doesnt do this... Do you know what router will do it? I will need it as wireless as well ....

Anyone know of such a router? Otherwise? Some alternatives?

I don't know if there are any routers per say that will do the trick, but what you can do is set up a proxy server. I use a program called Censornet with is Linux based but easy to setup and configure. This will allow you to allocate users time periods for browsing and limit the amount of bandwidth they use. Plus it also acts as a caching server and has great filter capabilities. It also has a pretty good firewall.

Retro. Rather put your router in Bridged mode (basically each PC dials in manually then) and get each pc a different Account (Webafrica sells prepaid) So u can basically put 1gig of data on Joe's pc, and 2gigs on Sarah's account. Once its capped, they have no internet access (or if the money runs out. depending on howmuch u put on
 
Try IPcop, it is a linux based router which you can install on a old PII machine. The you cal install addons to do just that.

Try and get hold of a MikroTik wireless AP. It will allow you to setup queues based on source ip or username. you can then limit those queues on usage etc.
Also has nice qos features, built-in firewall, etc.
