Saya me too. Currently a caught criminal has better rights and assistance than victims of crime, and many insurances do not even cover certain incidents let alone those that cannot afford the expense after the committed crime against the victims. Crime is the responsibility of government and they should pay for the affects of crime against it citizens

Your safety is your own responsibility. Unfortunately, the police refuse to acknowledge that protecting people from crime is part of their function.

Forcing the government to pay for the effects of crime might in fact be the only way to make them do anything about it. When something affects their bottom line they're quick to came in with a defense... see: Telkom.

If our safety is our own responsibility you'd think they could then at least legally empower us to protect ourselves.
