Killer dies after starting fire

Port Elizabeth - A Port Elizabeth prisoner died of smoke inhalation after setting his mattress on fire in the St Albans Maximum Security prison, police said on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Verna Brink said Moses King Menzi was serving 15-year sentence for murder.

"He had a box of matches with him which he apparently used to set his mattress alight around 20:30 on Monday."

He called for help as the flames got out of hand, said Brink.

"Prison warders ran to his cell and took him outside, but he collapsed and died in the passage in front of his cell."

You have to wonder what his initial plan was after the mattress was lit.

dumb twit!, the problem with this being a darwin contender, its not funny enough!, but stupid none the less!.
