Like the bloke that says "they"

or the common english expression "they say"
who are they? they are the others. "They" are not the person making the statement.

But to be so sensitive thagt any criticism of the government is immediately construed to mean criticism of blacks in particular shows how fragile race relations still are.

back in the bad old whitey days, we referred to the government as they/them and mostly w*nkers. I;m pretty sure I will continue on that trend for many more years, irrespective of the colour of the leader. I dont see the colour, why do you? Is it that important to you to have the leader be a particular colour?

There are white people in government, any reference to "they..." would include them. To say "they think they can host the world cup" to me, as a colour neutral citizen, means "the government is smoking poppy seeds". If you or the article writer prefer to interpret that as "black people suck" so be it. But that is not the true meaning of that phrase. And I know it can be difficult, english being a second/third language and all...

ACSA is partly privatised so you can't solely blame "they" for congestions at airports.

So some people prefer to judge the competence of the government by their actions not their race. I couldn't give a flying fck if the government is black. If they are incompetent then I'll complain. If they weren't I wouldn't complain :rolleyes:
