Got my copy from BT Games today and will start a character on Evernight to check it out.

On which servers are everyone playing, I notice Evernight being mentioned a lot on these forums?

Very first impressions: dang,, its beautiful :)
I did not experience lag on my IS connection while playing today (wasn't downloading anything)
Comparing this to some other pay 2 play games ...
I'v played Ryzom for some time, and I've played some WoW, and I would rather spend my money on LOTR. (I still got a soft spot for Ryzom though :) , but wanna try a new world)
The WoW art style I don't like much and that is probably the main reason I won't play it, and I'm also not that big a fan of PvP, so I won't miss it.

1 Question.

Is this the LOTR strategy based game or Roleplaying like WoW ?
 
Reason I asked was cos I played the LOTR game lauched way back and it was strategy. I'll check it out.

im thinking of taking the MMO jump ... how bandwidth intensive is LOTR??? read only good reviews of this game ... got an ADSL 4meg line ...
also how much does it cost a month in fees to play this game?

Played for 3 hours while having bwmeter on to check.
Downloaded 19Mb, Uploaded 8Mb
Average transfer rate: Down: 1.7kB/s Up: 0.7KB/s

take2.co.za and kalahari.net also sell the game. In fact I'd much rather support them than BT Games. Have had too many bad experiences and disappointments with that company. My Special Edition was shipped on Friday so I should receive it by Monday.

I think you can also pay with credit card at www.lotro-europe.com for gametime. It is infact cheaper.

R385 sounds high ... but does that come with time card to play ... or must i pay an additional R305 ... which then makes this game very expensive ...
 
Normal edition comes with 30 day gametime. Special Edition has 45days.

There is 30 days included. And as BeLgaRiOn said, rather go with the credit card option if you can, it will be cheaper, just mentioned the time cards so you get an idea of the price range.

how much is the credit card option for the time cards... cant find it on the site ... (feeling really dumb with alll these questions)

EDIT: i see you can get lifetime membership for 150 quid ... (R2150 odd)
